Linking To Sites Your Visitors Will Value |

When we start out with our online marketing, most of us start out online all 'gung-ho' about every possible subject, I know that I sure did. I bought domains, I bought into a domain registrar service, I bought a software business (whew, what a big mistake that was), I attended a wonderful marketing seminar, I bought several thousand dollars worth of products. The list could go on and on, but I am fairly sure it's a familiar song, maybe you have more or less verses to add. Choosing a linking strategy is among the things you should consider closer to the beginning instead of later on, but who knew what was to come about... several years ago, the FFA thing was still huge, and remember the randomizer fad? That cost me several hundred and made me NADA... anyone else? People like interesting, relevant links. If they come to a golf site, what do you thing would happen if all your links were for magazines about crocheting, or women's nightwear, they would never click on them, plus you'd get 'demoted' by the major engines who rank people's sites for relevance. When people submit their links to your directory, they have one thing in mind... getting clicks. It's a time-consuming chore and not only the link submitter should choose wisely, but also the link approver. Unless you have a general link directory, not every link that gets submitted is going to be valuable to your niche visitors. I'll add more to this article as I find time, but I mainly wanted to test this new feature of PHP Link Directory... very nice touch guys! |
